this morning that I had washed -- they were beach towels, and some of them I've had for ages!
My 25-year-old son wandered into the room, and I told him, "A few of these beach towels I've had ever since I was a child!'
To which he replied .... in all seriousness .....
"How are they still intact?"

(16,254 posts)And, they are still in fine condition AND absorbent. So many you buy today have fibers that wouldn't absorb a tear drop like the old cotton towels did.

(16,376 posts)My order wasn't ready so I asked the pharmacist if my son could come back and pick it up later. He said sure, just as long as he knows my date of birth. I looked at my son and reminded him of the year and without a moment's pause, said "A.D.?" The pharmacist fell over.
