On a walk I had crossed the street and as I started down the small side street I noticed a couple of guys walking towards me and by their ages and how they were dressed they didn't seem to belong together. When they got closer I saw they were following a mother duck who was leading her babies towards the river--but there was that busy street in the middle of a weekday afternoon.
So without saying anything I walked on the opposite side of the street and when we got to the busy street the 2 men held up their hands to stop traffic on the right and I did the same on the left. Every car stopped until the duck and duckling were safely across the street and then 3 strangers who spontaneously worked together all went on their ways.
