First Monarch butterfly, southern Louisiana, April 5, 2018

Saw mu first Monarch this afternoon whil working in my butterfly garden, hoeing the milkweeds.

It would fly directly toward me then circle me, sit on a milkweed, fly around me again, etc. I swear they know what I'm doing.

He hung around for over an hour.

Probably a she. She was checking out various plants by sitting on them for 3-5 mins.

Type: Aquatic and one other variety.

Planning to spend several hours in my garden today and want to see another (or the same) one.

The females have thicker black lines inside their wings and the males have
a little more color too.

Aquatic type is it a swamp red?

A. incarnata w/a female monarch.
