I always watch Star Trek and I get that special affects have gotten more clever.
But nothing distracts me from watching the reruns. They are amazing and thoughtful.

(46,116 posts)The show's low budget forced the writers away from special effects and toward human relationships and ideas. For those of us too young to remember when the show was new (which is most of us) it's not possible to appreciate how revolutionary the show was.

(6,261 posts)I wonder if he just aged faster than most of us. I wondered the same about John Thaw, who looked 50 when he was only 35.
ETA: And he would have been only 32 or so at the time of the picture.
