She does like it here so I try not to move the mouse to much.

(206,330 posts)Felix isn't a lap cat, either, though he will lie right next to me - but he would never do that...

(2,905 posts)With food and water, toys and litter boxes, she will not sleep with me either. My legs are toys, she prances and dive bombs on them to no end. Hopefully that will change one day.

(206,330 posts)I got him one when I first brought him home as a little thing, to keep him safe when I went out. And now he has a much larger one where he has a lot of his stuff - box, bowls, bed, toys - and he gets quite possessive about it when I attempt to clean it up, so I try and do it when he's otherwise occupied... His favorite spot is napping in the hammock of the kitty tree, but there's a new cardboard box that has been his new favorite spot just since Christmas...

(2,905 posts)Luna was taken from her Mom to early, I do not know how I got this shot, she does this on occasion when I pet her, it is subsiding as she grows older.

(206,330 posts)I have no clue about Felix's background, either. But he was a bitey little thing when I first got him, not that I blame him, it was rough for such a little thing all on his own out there. The vet said he thought he was about 7 weeks. *sigh*
He has gotten much better, actually looks for affection now - the first time he did it, it took me by surprise! But he still does bite on occasion, more like a nip, he's never broken the skin, but it's startling! I hate to think that he still feels like he has to defend himself.

(2,905 posts)Luna knows that affection is always there, Luna bites on occasion, she is very affectionate towards me, she is biting the hand that feeds her, now she definitely knows I am her person. As she gets older, it is subsiding. I love her.

(206,330 posts)I believe Felix knows, too, though it did take him awhile - but he is improving all the time. He loves my dog Jack, too, it took him a much shorter time to bond with Jack.

(206,330 posts)Dogs need to go out - and aren't all that good without company. Cats are better at managing when you're out, they do sleep a lot, plus they have boxes. They do need companionship though, that's why it's best that you have two. I have several friends like that - as long as the kitties bond with each other. If I ever got a kitten, I'd definitely get two, but Felix was on his own when I found him - and he doesn't seen too friendly with other cats. I'm grateful that he loves Jack.

(2,905 posts)They need exercise! Someday, I will have a great dog. Maybe two.

(206,330 posts)I grew up with a cocker spaniel who I loved more than anything! Losing her was just the worst - so after that I adopted senior dogs since I felt like those were the ones who needed me. Two of my dogs lived past 18, not that it made it any easier, but having two meant that I still had a companion. *sigh*

(86,843 posts)She looks like she may be a Siamese mix - they are often black or black/white but have the head and body shape, sometimes both "voices" and are exceptional in many traits and behaviors.
The last kitty to live with me, some time ago, was named Luna. She was a Siamese/Tortie and her face was half dark and half light, she hated my computer and would chew on the upper corner of the monitor or the mouse cord (it was that long ago) to get my attention. She was amazing.
I found her wild and she would do that almost-biting thing too. Most cats do that as a sign of affection, some dogs and I know wolves do it as an affectionate gesture... Cats like that are often receptive to training of a sort, my Luna was.
Lucky you, I miss having a feline home-mate.

(24,072 posts)...thing when I am using my laptop. He is a big, sleek muscular tabby who weighs 15 pounds, so he immobilizes me quite effectively.
Our sons found him in San Antonio, while their college soccer team (from Wisconsin) was on a preseason out-of-state tournament trip. All alone in the middle of the city, with a injured toe and walking on 3 legs. When they couldn't find a shelter to take him, they passed the hat amongst the team members and bought him a ticket back to Wisconsin. He was only about 4 weeks old, and weighed all of 1 pound 4 oz. I totally adore him.
One lucky cat.

(9,044 posts)and she is black like yours. Even the same color eyes. But ours is a total psycho. She was abandoned as a kitten and was never properly socialized, so she is skittish as hell and fights with any other cat or dog in the area.
She was took cute to say no to
and she grew up, and usually won't let us touch her for more than 10 seconds at a time, then she runs off. After several years.
