Dont know how it ends, but the way Britain treats victims of sexual assault, wow.
I know we dont treat them this well here, and I know the GOP has a a main agenda of theirs to legalize rape and make illegal abortion and birth control.
I cant even watch TV anymore without getting fucking ENRAGED!

Talk about PR and propaganda. But fascinating.

(47,428 posts)A documentary.
The Crown was amazing yes.
I could not get over however how much the royal family whines and complains about their lot in life. Vastly wealthy, powerful, adored and respected, yet they don't like having to do anything in return. Elizabeth had a sense of duty for sure, yet she felt sorry for herself as she got the crown forced upon her because her uncle abdicated.
But that is why the families in the chain of succession are given such a lavish lifestyle and perks, so that they are ready to step in if need be.
And Phillip was a piece of work.

(47,428 posts)to King George V, and new information that has come to light.
They cover the shocking news about David, the Prince of Wales who abdicated, and his connection to the Nazis. Apparently he did cut a deal with Hitler, that when the Germans invaded England, they would take out the ruling royal family (Elizabeth and her father) and install him in their place. Treason at the highest level. This was addressed in The Crown, but we get more detail in The Windsors about it.
I thought I would watch just one episode, but I had watched three before I realized it! And I will watch all of it.

(47,428 posts)to get the whole story on a topic. Not just the white washed version in high school.
We also are told in The Windsors that Elizabeth's father, King George the VI, was not very smart, poorly educated, ill tempered given to fits of rage. It appears that Elizabeth's mother held everything together.
We also get the back story on his affair with a married woman, and David's affairs as well.
OK I will shut up so you can watch without spoilers.
And I think I am off topic for this thread.
