The reindeer ostracized Rudolph and made fun of him while Santa did nothing. What a shitty way to grow up.

Then, when he had what they needed, suddenly they all loved him.

Where were they when he needed a friend?

Well, I always thought it was mean not to let the rabbit have any Trix, too.

But once you have some valued skill then you're exploited. In fairness I do think I've seen some versions of the story where Santa does at least sympathize with Ruddy.
