This old man really knows what is going on

My ailing father - 93 years old, a victim & defeater of Nazism, a right-wing Orthodox Jew - was asked by the physician in the emergency room, seeking to ascertain his cognitive state:

"Who's the President?"

My dad: "You don't want to know".

Jeez, I love my dad.

He said, "That jerk*, Bush is still the president, but not for long."

* He might have used a bit stronger term, memory fails me.

Edit to add: He had just turned 94 years old.

She was asked that question in early February - when memory was really coming and going - and she said "that son of a bitch."
She seldom uses words like that.

a buttass. She did not live long enough to see this travesty. She died at ninety-one.

My brother had a stroke some years back. When they asked him who was President, he said defiantly, "Al Gore."

The nurse told him he was just fine.

Asked by ICU nurse, who was the president, he said, “We don’t have one.”

And he was not a bit confused.

Love them both!!

My response to being asked if I knew who was President by the first responder was, “I wish I didn’t know.” His reply was, “that’s good enough for me.”
