This old man really knows what is going on

My ailing father - 93 years old, a victim & defeater of Nazism, a right-wing Orthodox Jew - was asked by the physician in the emergency room, seeking to ascertain his cognitive state:

"Who's the President?"

My dad: "You don't want to know".

Jeez, I love my dad.

1. What was the doctor's reaction?

I love your dad, too.

4. My ailing father was asked that question in November just after Obama won his first term.

He said, "That jerk*, Bush is still the president, but not for long."

* He might have used a bit stronger term, memory fails me.

Edit to add: He had just turned 94 years old.

5. My MIL is nearing 90 and had a bout of dementia(?) last winter

She was asked that question in early February - when memory was really coming and going - and she said "that son of a bitch."
She seldom uses words like that.

7. Great!

But you have to give your Mother credit. She told the truth in a few short words!

8. My German grandma used to call the first Bush

a buttass. She did not live long enough to see this travesty. She died at ninety-one.

My brother had a stroke some years back. When they asked him who was President, he said defiantly, "Al Gore."

The nurse told him he was just fine.

10. My husband passed this past May at age 73.

Asked by ICU nurse, who was the president, he said, “We don’t have one.”

And he was not a bit confused.

Love them both!!

17. I have a life long friend. She said the same thing.

For myself I have not cussed this much in years. My family would be shocked.

...I can only hope to come up with something as brilliant!

He should charge the hospital staff for making their day!

May he live til 120!

21. I was recently in a car accident.

My response to being asked if I knew who was President by the first responder was, “I wish I didn’t know.” His reply was, “that’s good enough for me.”
