I replaced a fuse and it wouldn't seat right. I decided to remove it and the top metal piece came off and fell back into the plug. It's impossible to remove. I can hear it when I shake the plug. I put in another fuse into the plug, but decided to double check to see if it's worth the risk to use the string of lights Is it safe?
Anyone with electrical experience that has an answer?

(17,023 posts)standard household electrical stuff. Personally, as inexpensive as lights are, I wouldn't risk it. Barring a bad outcome just the annoyance of the string going out after I had strung it wherever I was going to use it would make me just toss them.

(46,771 posts)You can't see it because it is INSIDE the plug. So, if I use the string of lights, will that loose metal cap create a potential risk?
