My niece created her own shoe design in honor of the Take a Knee protests at the NFL

Here is her rendition. I can hardly wait until the shoe company sends her the shoes so she can wear it for her friends!



I told her she should create more designs and sell them (though use fictional images). She's really good!

It would be nice if she could market those and make money while making a good statement.

My sister and her daughter had "the talk" about a year ago about white privilege and intersectional relationships with other kids, so she's well aware of what she can and cannot do. Still, the ability to bring up social consciousness in ninth grade is critical so she can have a positive school experience through college.
