One season - 9 episodes - they're all there.
I'm at 19 minutes in the first episode and I'm riveted - not sure I even like it,

Reminds me of a book I read back in the early 60s
On the Beach is a 1957 post-apocalyptic novel written by British author Nevil Shute after he migrated to Australia. The novel details the experiences of a mixed group of people in Melbourne as they await the arrival of deadly radiation spreading towards them from the Northern Hemisphere, following a nuclear war a year previously. As the radiation approaches, each person deals with impending death differently.[2][3]
Shute's initial story was published as a four-part series, The Last Days on Earth, in the London weekly periodical Sunday Graphic, in April 1957. For the novel, Shute expanded the storyline.[4] The story has been adapted twice as a film (in 1959 and 2000) and once as a BBC radio broadcast in 2008.

(13,623 posts)mini-series at all so far. Larry going through the sewer was nothing like their going through the Lincoln tunnel in the book and mini-series. I have no idea why they thought that would fly?
Im the same as you and just did an hour long dive into spoiler videos and episode guides of this new one. It doesnt sound promising.
Apparently, it starts out good but progressively gets worse. Read a ton of comments from book and original mini series fans and, by and large, they were not pleased. Disappointed is the word I saw most often. And most commenters seemed pretty open minded about changes, and understood movies are never exactly like the books, so its not just super fans nitpicking and bitching about everything.
They do a non-linear telling of the story, starting in Boulder. The breakdown of society is told in flashbacks and they arent very comprehensive. Character development suffers because of this and due to pacing being way too fast. Over and over folks commented that the story pushes on so quickly, you never get attached to the characters. The ending is some what changed and the additions sound a little odd.
Alexander Skarsgard plays Flagg, so that is good. I love him.
I had forgotten they were making a new one. Dont know if Ill watch it.

Took off in a direction I didn't really enjoy, and not even close to what I expected.
Not sorry I watched all the episodes, but it won't be one I'll watch again.
I remember now why I didn't read much of Stephen King's work.
Oh well . . .
