Related: About this forum'Chilling': Hayes Unpacks Trump's Vast And Ongoing Project To Steal The Election - All In - MSNBC
I knowit sounds like dystopic science fiction, says Chris Hayes. We have to be honest about it, the same way we had to be honest about what the virus was going to do to this country back in late February. It is frankly a plan for an authoritarian power grab. Aired on 09/23/2020.

(51,582 posts)since I don't have it or Fakebook. He is so smart, funny and current. He has a lot about sports (not a fan myself though) and dogs in shelters (he helps find them homes). I also read Mia Farrow and Judd Apatow too. I post a lot of news articles on DU after I read them following their posts on twitter. I ran out of The Atlantic today and had to go to my desktop to read it due to the paywall (changed to Firefox).
I don't think this is anything to take lightly, this is serious and real. tRump never jokes and the GOP are trying to steal our election unless we stop them before it happens.

(205,033 posts)Despite all the other important news today, every news report since I got home tonight has been hair-on-fire about what Trump said today and I completely believe it. I was already feeling pretty uneasy after listening to what Mary Trump had said, so tonight's news reports just reinforced what I was already fearing. And I mainly follow MSNBC because I trust the reporters there to bring up the most important issues of the day - and every one since I started watching has been saying the same thing. So I thought it sounded important enough to post.
And I was also a regular viewer of KO, he had quite a following on DU when he was on MSNBC, likely still does...

(8,029 posts)Tweety's place. She has been outstanding...but she always was! It's just now we get to see her on her own show in the evening! Brains, competence, clarity, passion, looks, personality...she has it all.
We watch every night all the way from Ari Melber through Brian Williams these days. Things are happening so fast and so crazy that each person's show gives more and different information, or covers some of the same info from a different angle.
My husband and his best friend are both in love with Rachel. I mean, what's not to love? She's an icon.

(205,033 posts)And Joy Reid earned a prime time slot ages ago, she's not just smart and knowledgeable, but she's a really quick study. I remember one night a long time ago when she was subbing for Rachel, I think, and she handed off to Ari Melber who was subbing for Lawrence. They'd just gotten a summary of that Trump NYT article IIRC and Ari asked Joy if she'd join his hour to discuss it. And by the time she reached his studio and spent a few minutes in the hall, she'd read and digested it and they had an informative segment.
I also like Nicolle Wallace as well. I had initial reservations about her because of her background working for Bush*, but she's turned into one of the most personable and informative in the lineup, so I watch her whenever I can.

(8,029 posts)And I also have trust issues. We usually aren't in a place to be ready to watch when she's on, but she makes really good points about things. She's been on those panels with Rachel and Joy and I've enjoyed the 3 of them together..they're a good mix.

(205,033 posts)She's not a "never Trumper," she said she gave up on the party back when they nominated Sarah Palin.

(8,029 posts)Makes sense, though, to hear her speak now. I'm glad to know she's changed, but I can't imagine how anyone could have been a republican with the likes of Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld running havoc all over the world during the bush administration. What kind of person was a republican during the John Kerry vs. the tea party republican convention with the purple band aids?
Henry Kissinger once said that Donald Rumsfeld was the most ruthless human being he'd ever known. Henry Kissinger!!! One of the most ruthless people I've ever seen, said that about Rumsfeld! Scary.

(205,033 posts)George W seems like he could be affable if you only knew him personally, Michelle Obama seems to like him. But I sure agree about Dick Cheney, he totally creeps me out. They say that Trump has no sense of humor and I get that impression about Cheney, too - unless he finds cruelty humorous. I mean, he did "shoot his 'friend' in the face!"
And Rumsfeld was pretty scary as well, but the difference I see about these guys, as bad as they were - Nixon, too - is that they weren't traitors, wouldn't sell their country out, and that's what Trump is doing - and I hold everyone who supports him, especially those Senate Republicans who ignored the compelling impeachment evidence presented, to be complicit.
