(41,831 posts)You wear a mask, or you can wear a Ventilator later! Come this fall those who do wear the masks will either be on an ventilator or they will be buried, perhaps in a mass grave with others.
And well, if ignorant people decide they won't wear a mask...well, that's their decision. They will not be let into any business nor any government office. The worst case scenario will be they mix with others who have the virus and come down deathly ill. Then they will find out its NOT A HOAX.

It all started with Trump, though.
Nice contrast in the video, showing the New Zealand prime minister totally deferring to a health expert in regard to Covid-19.

To cover myself, I wouldn't be that way either! For either party! Heed the experts!
Edit: And I honestly used to resent Al Gore a little bit, wondering if he was making the science of climate change more of a political argument. (Now I don't think it would've mattered either way.)

(45,438 posts)Sure problems can happen if you don't wash your mask, or don't fit it correctly to make a good seal, or don't even cover your damn nose. Then there is paranoid delusional stuff about your kids will be kidnapped and no one will find them since everyone is wearing masks.
Early on in this pandemic deplorables targetted Asian-Americans for racism, especially the ones who have never been to China. Masks were associated with being Asian, and therefore having COVID. So people knew early on that masks were to stop someone from spreading the virus to others. Then once local governments mandated masks for everyone before entering stores, people didn't magically switch their thinking to the selfish thought that it prevents the wearer from catching infection. It has always been about preventing the wearer from spreading it to others, same as covering a cough or sneeze.
