Years ago during the first Reagan admin. I was interning at a DC museum and recall what the staffer for childrens' art programs said about a visit to the White House.
The staffer accompanied a group of special needs, disabled children from the museum who were chosen to for the visit. When they arrived at the White House she said First Lady Nancy Reagan looked at the kids with surprise & disgust.
