Yesterday there was 231 confirmed cases.
Two deaths. 209 adults. Maybe 80 old people and whatever adds to 231 children.
Some 2200 were “discarded”. Don’t know if that means released from hospital or were tested and found negative.

In my specific area the there was one confirmed case. Most of the confirmed cases are Ticos (Costs Ricans) Maybe 60 or so foreigners and two to be determined (?)

We went to town today to get mail money and drugs. There was plenty of tp and fresh food. We have to wash hands before we can enter. Tilaran was quiet but more stores are open than I thought.

The vet and other stores said they would open by appt.

Road crews were working. The fish monger stopped at our house this morning as did the fresh fruit folks. Our neighbor gave us eggs he raised.

We live in Paradise by any standard.
This third world Socialist country is great.

Although public health was mentioned, I didn't see anyone specifically saying that medical advice and public health advice are two different things. And I have seen them conflated in may places and many posts.

Listening to Dr. Fauci about this is one thing, but Bill Gates probably knows about as much about when the virus will peak as the posters on DU do.

Anyway, there are some medical professionals who believe cases could go way down in the summer, but go back up in the fall once it gets cooler again. That’s what happened in 1918.

He also understands number crunching. His foundation has been doing important medically related work all over the world. He was speaking to issues that he understands. I heard mostly social advice, not medical advice.

I found his interview very frank and his comments made perfect sense; a polar opposite of our evil genius in the White House. It is damn nice to listen to a man who has a brain for a few minutes.

He made a point that rich nations would fare far better than poor nations, if they had good leadership......

If he is correct we are screwed.

Gates is a smart man that believes that, when you face a major problem, you hire experts that are smarter than you are in the subject.

Trump is a stupid man who hires stupid people because he's afraid smart people will expose him as being as stupid as he is.
