(86,577 posts)At this point, voting is not enough. We will be protesting and should be every moment we possibly can.

(36,461 posts)It takes less time to make a few calls, and it actually impacts them, unlike a protest or march, which they ignore. Not that protests and marches don't have their place in the resistance, but people need to call their members of Congress every week, not just when some key legislation is being voted on. I make calls every Monday morning. It takes about 15 minutes to compose a brief message & make the calls.
The last time we jammed the Congressional switchboard was the financial crisis of 2008. Are we there yet?

(833 posts)1. Section four of the 25th amendment, if implemented....
2. Military refusal to follow an order for a nuclear attack....
a. Presumably, such an order from the president would be legal, so a military refusal to act would deepen our already Constitutional mess.
b. Third world, get ready for a new member.
I agree that he's unstable enough to try it, and I'm not hopeful that either remedy I've listed would actually be applied. Also, I'm not at all happy about the prospect of a President Pence. (But he should be easier to beat in Nov.)
