A tribute to one of my favorite Art Deco buildings. Incidentally, you can read more about it here:

(36,649 posts)I wish they'd do something with it. A shopping mall (instead of that monstrosity they have downtown!). Or the gateway to a new stadium. Or the hub of a new, expanded subway & commuter rail system.
But, this is Buffalo - if there's a wrong way to do something TPTB will bend over backwards to find a way to push that particular "solution" through, no matter what the consequences.
Like the landmark Bernstone's Cigar Store on Main at Swan.

It was a beautiful old 1850's building. I walk by it every day, and almost every day I've thought that someone should open up a business there. It's an ideal location for an upscale restaurant, or a bar. The out-of-town owners up & tore the place down last week!
It's just so fucking depressing.

(1,361 posts)It could be restored like the Paramount Bldg in Asbury Park, NJ. One or two stall were set up and rented out at a small cost. The lobby is now occupied with merchants.
What economic activity is left in Buffalo?
