Australia: Firefighters prank Scottish reporter into holding 'deadly vicious' Koala Bear.

Last edited Mon Jan 13, 2020, 05:57 AM - Edit history (3)

Taking a break, firefighters in South Australia pranked a Scottish Reporter about the 'Drop Bear', an imaginary 'deadly vicious' cousin of the Koala Bear and gave her one to hold.

It was the first time many had laughed in a week of horror.

Back in the day (~40 years ago), TV stations and networks would join forces to create "Christmas tape," containing the best outtakes, foul-ups, and pranks like this one. This tape would not be released to the general public, but I got a copy through my media contacts. I still have that VHS copy, but -- without a VCR -- I have no way to play it. Not even sure the tape would survive intact.

Maybe that tradition should be revived...

There’s at least one local shop that does the conversation, but I haven’t gone there because they would probably refuse on that basis.
