Great for stimulating the stomach and digestion, detoxifying the liver, improving body fluid metabolism and detoxifying the female breast. Chinese herbalists call it Pu Gong Ying. Unfortunately, I can't eat mushrooms, because they, being fungi, disturb the balance of the probiotic flora in my intestines, giving me diarrhea. Even Hippocrates touted the healthful benefits of dark blue, black and red forest berries - Sea Buckthorn Berries was one of his favorites, and was like a vitamin pill in a berry for me when I lived in Romania. In the springtime in Romania, I would cook up fresh Nettle leaves with green garlic and Leustian, or Lovage greens, which are kind of like celery greens, but much more aromatic - with great benefits for the blood, heart and circulation, and for women with their menstrual periods as well. They also had fresh tart cherries in Romania, called Visine. Romania had the greatest cherries in the world - in addition to red and white cherries, they had fresh tart cherries, and also bitter cherries - which is something I have only seen in Romania. And guess what? The Romanians, descended from the ancient Dacians, are the original indigenous people of Eastern Europe and the Balkans. An amazingly effective Romanian folk remedy for bladder and urinary tract infections is to make a tea from the dried stems of cherries - I know, 'cause I've tried it. So you can walk into an herb store in Romania and get a box of dried cherry stems.
