After living in California for a while, it is hard to continue to look at our relatively inexpensive food the same way. Driving by seeing dozens of workers in the fields for what would be only a few dollars a day desperately seeking a better life.
Wouldn't we all do the same for our families?
Shouldn't we demand an end to the exploitation of their countries by the corporations so they don't have to risk their lives to move somewhere better?
Shouldn't we demand an end to the arms trade (one place where we are "Number 1&quot that destroys their peace?

Thanks for the post. I wish my views were never warped. In my late teens and early twenties I was fooled for a while by the need for "security". Then I found out that the "threat" from the USSR was overblown buffalo bagels.

"Here I am, with my immigration form,
It's big enough to keep me warm, when the cold winds come in".....

As pertinent in 1972 as it is today. Even more so.

Thanks for posting. I haven't heard that song in ages. Those were the heady days of protests about everything, and so many things remain unchanged to this very day.
