Straight news...what a concept! Some interesting history, too, the Vernon Jordan shooting, Super Tuesday 1980 and the Mariel boatlift. Thanks for posting!

Nothing went right for the poor man that year - to say nothing of his problems with his brother.

I remember reading that the first thing he had to do when he returned to Plains, was declare bankruptcy on his peanut farm thanks to Billy's mismanagement.

And yet, there he is. Almost 95 and one of the most respected former heads of state anywhere in the world.

Life is full of irony.
