This week marks the one-year anniversary of arguably the most important privacy ruling of the digital age. In Carpenter v. the United States, the Supreme Court ruled that police violated the Fourth Amendment when they secured months’ worth of a robbery suspect's location information from his cell phone company without a warrant.
