(183,043 posts)See my post below. It's a great commentary on office life and the cast is astounding.
Orson Welles
Martin Sheen
Jon Voight
Art Garfunkel
Etc
Plenty of other actors you seen for the last 40 years.
BTW - while filming the movie they had the 7th largest air force in the world.

(1,298 posts)I guess because they don't play it often on cable and I somehow never rented it. Unfortunately, Netflix doesn't have it for streaming, but I'll watch it soon. I read the book many years ago when I was about 20.

(7,540 posts)One continuous scene that explains the movie. Then don't spoil the rest.
Then the heartbeat over the credits, wow.
I'm actually excited to see both versions.

(183,043 posts)Buck Henry did a fantastic job of taking a book with no timeline and organizing it into a coherent beautiy of a film.
We watched it not too long ago. My wife had never seen it. It really as good a commentary on office work as "Office Space". The scene with the old man and Art Garfunkel is a gem. A plus is we got "The Only Living Boy in New York" from Paul Simon because of that movie.

I'm guessing Jon Voight's character inspired Erik Prince (satire escapes neo-fascists). The sad part is that Paul Simon was edited out of the picture, while Art Garfunkel's character got killed off early. It would've been great to see them together.
