From the government, who was never fully paid by the buyer; to the public itself, which saw Argentina's once respected state postal service (Encotel) quickly degenerate into a Three Stooges-style mail-it-and-cross-your-fingers racket (woo-woos optional).
A loss for everyone, that is, except the buyers: the Macri family, which embezzeled millions in order to shore up their other business interests (but in vain).
Now president, Mauricio Macri has been using his office to welch on the $230 million+ debt to the state dating from their 1997 purchase.
The then-bankrupt Correo Argentino was renationalized by the Kirchners in 2003 (hence Macri's vendetta against them).
Thanks for posting, Steve. If Cheeto gets his way, our beloved USPS will probably suffer a similar fate - but of course on a much larger scale.
