No doubt many people automatically think of women when it comes to 'fat shaming', but it is a real problem with men as well. There is also a real issue with people not understand health and health risks. On Wednesday, my husband's team member dropped dead of a heart attack at 47; he was over 400lbs and no funeral home in our town could accommodate his body, so he had to be taken to Tulsa. Size discrimination is real, and, like many bigotries, it also includes those who are not the traditional target.

Body image issues are real and can be deadly. They have to be addressed in a real, educated, and honest way.
