Macron sounded like a compliant wife trying to gently persuade her beast of a husband not to get out of control "for his own sake."
this is how diplomacy on an international scale sounds.
In a sense, there is little Macron can actually do to force the Crown Prince (bastard) to keep from killing and torturing but his language was actually very blunt for a diplomat.
I sometimes forget that diplomacy at home, is not like diplomacy on the international scene.
Both have this much in common though: egos need to be handled with care at all times.
