wasn't especially funny and seemed mostly to be just crude and mean. HOWEVER, even if one agrees with that assessment (and I know a lot of DUers don't agree), that doesn't mean Trump's minions get to complain. My opinion of it had to do with whether it was successful as comedy, and I don't think it was, particularly. But if we're going to compare her remarks against Trump's with respect to their degree of meanness, crassness and cruelty, Trump wins hands down. He doesn't try to be funny; he's just a dick, and at being a dick he succeeds very well. Nobody can compete with him when it comes to public comments that are "disgusting, awful, vile, and so far beyond the line." Trump and his pals can just STFU about the WHCD.

I will also add that when I read the transcript of Wolf's remarks I thought they were at least a little funnier than I did when I was watching. Maybe her delivery needs some work.

I'm less a fan of her work, particularly her overall style and delivery, than I am of the fact that it clearly "went there" in all of the "don't go there" areas. I reposed something last week about Trump's Comedy Central roast and how any jokes about his "wealth" were "off limits." Well, last night those jokes weren't off limits.

I am reminded of the classic scene in "Tombstone," where Kurt Russell walks up on a guy slapping a horse, so he slaps him, stares him down, and says "Hurts...don't it?"

That was basically last night.

The problem is that this presidency is so horrible it simply isn’t funny anymore.
