If we can tweak him up on a few pts., I believe we'll see his as POTUS some day soon hopefully!
GO JOE!!

(20,868 posts)Whatta ya mean you don't know much abt. him?
Obviously not identical.
Bunch of damn good looking men regardless!

(205,267 posts)Except that he was serving in Congress. I thought it was pretty interesting that he's a twin - didn't see that mentioned before - and I didn't recall that there were other twins in the Kennedy family. And I agree, he sure looks like a Kennedy, which will definitely work in his favor...

(63,221 posts)He needs a little polishing, however. Also, his anti-cannabis stance is a problem. That is going to cost him with Democrats. Personally, I am not a pot smoker, but I think he needs to loosen up on this issue.

(205,267 posts)Medical marijuana was finally approved, but under very strict circumstances, and he was reluctant to get behind that. As for recreational marijuana, he sees it as a "gateway drug."
I'm wondering if Joe Kennedy's beliefs come from seeing the struggles he's seen in his own family - both Ted and Patrick Kennedy struggled with alcohol. Patrick Kennedy has been quite outspoken about it and he's said that family members didn't approve of him going public.
That said, young Joe Kennedy is both smart and personable and being a Kennedy certainly won't hurt him, LOL. I think he has a bright future and has plenty of time to "evolve."

(63,221 posts)no more dangerous than alcohol. What is needed is more access to treatment for addiction. Not everyone who uses the drug abuses it. As I have said, I do not partake, but I am very concerned about medical marijuana since I am allergic to opiates and I would like to have the option for another form of pain relief if it ever became necessary. I think many others would as well. Also, it is a much safer option than opiates.
Anyway, thank you for posting! Much appreciated!

(205,267 posts)But I agree that the resistance to medical marijuana makes little sense, especially when it's compared with pharmaceuticals. And I knew I'd just read something (probably here) on how it could be helpful in addressing the opioid crisis. Found it! Anything that can reduce these tragic and preventable deaths is fine with me!
