and I haven't even watched AMJoy yet. Been feeling this way since 11/16.

(21,692 posts)Corporate support. Tyrants are seldom able to turn their elected office into a dictatorship without massive corporate backing and approval.
This was the case with Hitler, Mussolini, and Marcos - as well as dictators who took power by force and were able to stay there for many years, such as Franco, Mobutu, Pinochet, Suharto, and the 1964-84 Brazilian regimes, among others.

(21,692 posts)Temer's next-door buddy, Macri (whose dealings in Brazil Temer is covering up for), is doing the same in Argentina.
They're now about to cut pensions, disability, and family assistance by 8.5%. It saves $6 billion a year - which they then turn around and mostly give back to the wealthy as (another) $4 billion tax cut.
The protests were so massive yesterday, they ran out of rubber bullets and tear gas.
