And this BS is the last straw that prompted Gillibrand to railroad Al?

We are in big trouble with party leaders gullible enough to believe this crappola — not to mention Tweeden's sketchy story.

Waist groping is now a thing. Who knew?

Watch out every male alive. Do not put you arm around a waist when posing for photos (shoulders are bound to be the next no-no area).

Just keep your arms in front of you with your hands clearly visible and make sure at least 6 inches of space is between you and anyone else in the photo.

Good God, we are fucked.

Where a group of people pose for a photo, the PC thing to do would be to have all the males hold their hands high - as if they were being arrested.

There were about half a dozen tween girls meeting a male pop star and he was holding his hands up and out and making a goofy face while they were taking the pictures. It was really uncomfortable, or at least I thought it was - especially since the mothers seemed to be egging the girls on.

Also you have to wonder if anything was exchanged for her to step forward and disclose how hurt she was by having her waist groped (not)?

As you said, she was willing to go on TV before millions of viewers but is unwilling to testify in a hearing.

Isn't that an unstated contradiction of terms, sort of an oxymoron?

The only women I've ever groped were wearing a wedding ring I put on their finger. But a friendly grab of the waist - in front of a camera no less??? I couldn't BEGIN to recall all the family members I've probably disgraced myself with. Imagine the temerity of a handshake - or a pat on the back? Our society is headed towards trying to walk a high wire made of goo. Maybe we should all start wearing body cams - forward and rearward looking.
Don't get me wrong, but can we ever be absolutely sure of every allegation leveled against someone else??? What a clusterfest that would be! " Yeah , after I set his coffee on his desk and started towards the door, I caught him looking towards me and smiling. What am I supposed to do? The office dress code forbades me wearing sweat pants!"
As a happily married man of 35 years, I STILL notice those of the opposite sex that I find attractive. I am male and I'm built in such a way that I have an interest in females. I didn't ask to have the carnal desires I had in my younger years. But even then, I didn't just grab every female leg, boob and buttock that was within reach. I can't recall that my late mother instilled that respect into me or I fashioned my personal actions after my dad - or maybe it's all or part genetic. The truth is that once Ma Nature caused hair to sprout in places other'n on my head, I began to perceive that girls weren't as dorky as I had thought. And so it began. 60 years later, I still steal a glance. Izzat wrong? I've never wolf whistled at a woman, never pinched an ass, never grabbed a breast or a vulva. But I am guilty of having initiated a handshake - a pat on the back (upper back or shoulder) - a brief hello hug (like the late night hosts do with a guest) and the odd wink - a respectful wink, mind you.

She’s seriously saying that squeezing someone’s waist over clothing while taking a photo SHE ASKED FOR is sexual assault or even misconduct? She says she was uncomfortable because she had gained weight, which implies she wouldn’t have been uncomfortable if she hadn’t gained weight. Her problem was with her excess weight, not Al Franken. She’s a joke and demeans women who actually have been sexually assaulted.

She must be a bitch to live with (and I’m female so please don’t call me sexist).

One person’s discomfort doesn’t mean the other person is guilty of sexual abuse or misconduct.

Edit: I’m not disagreeing with you, I agree with you 100%. Sexual assault is terrible no matter who it happens to.

You have to see this woman try to justify herself to realize how lame she is. It makes me wonder how Franken’s other accusers justify their own traumas?

And it's something she left out of her original accusation. Wrong thing to say on so many levels: 1) It would have been okay if she was thinner? 2) This speaks way more of how she perceives herself than to Senator Franken's intentions 3) It trivializes sexual assault as predicated upon the attractiveness of the victim. 4) It turns around Trump's defense that the women accusing him weren't worth groping. It seems to me she was offended because he inadvertently reminded her that she gained a little weight around the waist.

Truthfully I could only make it halfway through before I turned it off. A waist grab to take a photo is not abuse. It just isn't. If that sort of thing really bothered her why the hell didn't she say something before the photo was snapped? I'm sure he would have respected her boundaries and kept his hands to himself. This whole thing stinks.

My beautiful stepdaughter was molested by her former stepfather when she was 9 years old. While she has built a happy life for herself with a supportive husband and two wonderful little girls, what happened to her as a child still effects her to this day. I'm truly sorry that this happened to you too.

Thanks for the reply. I've been reading this board since the Bush years and this whole thing with Frankin pushed me to sign up.

That’s all the proof we need, and her experience was just too painful to repeat under oath in an ethics investigation, but not too painful for her to do an interview on cable news.

And roger stone getting physically aroused watching this interview and writing the script to be used against the next powerful smart democrat that dares to question any member of trump’s criminal empire.

I would hardly call this sexual harassment. I know I'll be turning off the radio or TV when she comes across the airwaves in the future.
