(19,204 posts)do when Trump is gone? This administration has been comedy gold for them. It's a classic case of "we have to laugh to keep from going completely bat-shit crazy".
Dynamite pair of Colbert monologues here, and that's only the beginning of the show! Sorry I missed it tonight, but thanks for posting them, Rhiannon12866.

(206,680 posts)This material writes itself! Especially lately with "The Mooch" jokes! I honestly think Stephen is genuinely saddened, he had so much fun with this. All the comedians are having a field day with Trump - though when Samantha Bee was on with Colbert she said that, despite all the material, she really can't wait till he's gone - like the rest of us.
And I read a thread earlier that said they couldn't wait to see what Colbert had to say about "The Mooch" being out - so I not only watched, as usual, but waited for it to be online. And Stephen really can sing!

(19,204 posts)I was surprised Stephen could carry the song like that. Clearly, he's a little self-conscious of his singing, but he certainly doesn't have anything to hang his head about.

(206,680 posts)He obviously likes to perform like that - and I think he did a stellar job with that song!

(206,680 posts)I did watch the show, but I think I've now watched it three times, LOL, loved the song! Despite being short lived, it really was irresistible... and Stephen, especially, did it justice!
