Business career
He was a member of the Amtrak Board of Directors and had an Amtrak locomotive named for him.[12][13][14]
Thompson is a partner at Akin Gump, a Washington, D.C., law firm, and was formerly senior adviser at the consulting firm Deloitte and formerly the independent chairman of the Deloitte Center for Health Solutions.[15] Thompson taught a class in the fall of 2005 at Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government on medical diplomacy.[16]
Shortly after leaving his Bush Cabinet post, Thompson joined and served for two years on the board of directors of Applied Digital Solutions, makers of the controversial VeriChip: a glass-encapsulated RFID chip that can be injected into human flesh for various database-driven identification purposes.
He was formerly the co-host for their television series, Plain Talk About Health.[17]

However, the person who posted this to Youtube, Xttina67, is an End of Times and Mark of the Beast believer. I consider that aspect of the information to be conspiracy theory and I tend to dismiss all CT. The fact of these chips' existence/use may be true but hardly proves the religious mumbo jumbo prophesy this person attributes to it. So I've thrown the baby out with the bath water, if you will. The "attack" was not on you, but on Xttina67's theory.

I've personally spoken with Katherine Albrecht on several occasions and she's been on this issue for a long time. The RFID chips can legitimately be claimed to be an inventory control device, but it's also the way they target in-aisle marketing. Walk in wearing a certain brand of sweater? WOW! The flat screen shows a bargain on some other sweater. Yes, the register will give you the bargain price because it can also read the RFID chip in what you are wearing. WalMart is evil.
