I hate to break it to the CATO Institute, but jobs and capital are NOT migrating to Tax Havens...

just a lot of POST OFFICE BOXES.

Nevertheless, for those of you not familiar with economic double speak, I'll translate what Cato Institute Geek Dan Mitchell's argument for Tax Havens like the Cayman Islands (where Mitt Romney has all his hidden money) is into plain english.

You see, people who live in the United States, and enjoy all of the services, freedoms and opportunities it provides, while stashing their income in the Cayman Islands to avoid having to PAY for any of that are actually doing us regular folks a great service! The billionaire who lives in a mansion and has 20 cars, while sticking the minimum wage waitress down the street with the bill for protecting all that property is actually doing us all a great favor. By hiding his money in the Cayman Islands, he is providing LOW TAX COMPETITION, and thus putting pressure on the U.S. government to lower its tax rates.

The analogy would be to say that car thieves who steal Rolls Royces and then sell the stolen cars for Volkswagen prices are ALSO doing us a service. Rolls Royce will be forced to lower their prices knowing that people can pick up a Rolls Royce at a 90% discount from a car thief.

GOT IT? Good! If that makes sense to you, you're probably ready for another glass of that Koch Brothers Kool-Aid.

Check out what the CATO INSTITUTE has to say about Tax Havens.

Geez...you'd think with all that Koch Brothers cash that's being pumped into the Romney Campaign they could afford a production that looks better than Patrick Cox's infamous TAXBASTARDS commercial, shot in his garage.

to make that pig pretty.
I think the ultimate argument is for zero tax. Apparently this will make everybody rich.
Did I miss something?

Get all government off our backs. Pirate ethics for everyone! (Well, maybe poor dark-skinned people would still have to follow rules, what with the return of slavery and all.)
