Related: About this forum'President Bush should be criminally investigated for torture'
After the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, the US has come under intense scrutiny for its use of 'enhanced interrogation techniques' that many experts have called torture. Now there are calls to bring those responsible in the US government to justice. Philippe Sands is a Professor of Law at University College, London. In his new book "Torture Team", Sands explores the legality and ramifications of the US program of state-sponsored torture behind closed doors at Guantanamo Bay. In an RT interview, Sands discusses the possibility of one day bringing those responsible to justice.

(20,998 posts)...they should be thoroughly investigated for: (1) starting a war for no reasons save vanity and greed; and (2) invasion of a sovereign nation under false premises. Then by all means, continue the investigating and move on to torture and other war crimes.
And let's not just stop with Bush* and Cheney*. No, we need to include: (1) Rumsfeld; (2) Rice; (3) Perle; (4) Libby; (5) Powell; (6) Tenet; and (7) Wolfowitz.
My favorite subject has surfaced again.

(10,893 posts)Why are they blaming BOTH Bush and Obama? What is wrong with these people--are they just a bunch of annoying Paulites or something? Obama wasn't the one who started several wars and thoroughly eliminated the surplus. They know this was messed up before he came into office.
