Woman rips off Isis-imposed niqab after her village is freed

Source: Metro UK

This is the moment a relieved woman removes her niqab after her war-torn village in Syria was liberated from Isis.

In areas occupied by the group, jihadists forced women to wear all-black dresses and hide their faces with a veil.

So when fighters from the US-backed Syria Democratic Forces took over the village, on the outskirts of Manbij city in Aleppo province, there was cause for celebration.

The image of the woman ripping the veil off her head symbolises the fightback against the extremists – who still occupy Manbij but are completely surrounded.

How SAFE is this?

Should the 'world at large' really be gleefully passing around this particular photo before this lovely woman is safely escorted FAR, FAR away from the region?

I feel like there's a still a certain potential for what SHOULD be a triumphant story ... turning out very badly in the end ...

I really, really hope ... she's well-protected ... and hopefully LONG GONE.

and notice she's just ripped off the oppressive face covering. She's still very modestly dressed with a hijab on her head.

She puts that thing back on, no one will recognize her.

It rather looks like the tide has turned against Daesh. Instead of being supported as a force against westernization and colonialism, they're pretty much hated now.

one doing it.

A lot of women are apparently celebrating being liberated from ISIS this way.
