(19,460 posts)Bernie was an Independent until about 5 months ago and his is not going to be the Democratic nominee no matter how much you wish for it. No super delegates are going to switch their votes. Bernie is not liked by his peers, he is not well liked in Congress and after spending the last few months disparaging the Democratic Party, he is now not liked by the Party itself.

(3,839 posts)Good luck winning an election with that idea. And good luck trying to convince Bernie supporters to vote for HRC.
As for not being liked in Congress, I sincerely doubt that, based on things said about him but members of both parties.

(3,557 posts)My fears of the impact on the disintegration of the Republican Party are coming to fruition. I was worried that the dems would become the party of war and wall street and that is exactly what is happening.
So are we going to see a new liberal party rise?
The democrat party is disgusting me more and more and proving that it is less the party of the middle class.

(3,557 posts)I was terribly mistaken in thinking that the Democratic Party was supposedly a "liberal" party.
I guess there is a reason that more people are independent than claim to be a republican or a democrat.
Feeling the Bern
(3,839 posts)And after I have seen how the Party treats its liberal members, I probably will never be a Democrat again after this election season.
I will re-register independent and vote my conscience after 20 years of being a Democrat.

(1,917 posts)we declare party at the time of the primaries.
This way, independents have some say as to whom they want as their choice.
I find it discouraging that HRC supporters think independents shouldn't be able to vote.
Yet, come November, neither the Dems nor the Rs can win without them.
Closed primaries rub against all democratic principles.

(1,370 posts)Just Hillary's incremental, fossil fuel sanctioned response to climate change should be enough to tell you that. Then there's her love of fracking, corporate buy off of our elections, regime change and nation building...
And Sander's recent association with what's become of the Democratic party is a badge of honor..

(10,499 posts)network talent who has been relegated to the Internet because he was not allowed to do stories on things like this. This is only being discussed on the Internet news, not MSM. That is the reality of what they have done.
The MSM spews misinformation and propaganda and fails to report at all on many important issue because it is an arm of the corporations and Plutocracy!

(50,983 posts)This is somewhat dated but still applicable to the problems of the nation.
Every DUer should watch this entire piece and consider how it applies to the primary election and the national circumstances we find ourselves in.

(3,557 posts)Pointing out that Hillary is a warmonger I guess is hurtful on a forum that, at least until recently, was filled with liberals. Unless fighting bullshit wars is now a liberal value.
I'm kind of confused here. What makes a liberal?? I thought liberals were supposedly peaceniks??

So, that being said, a plea to Madmiddle, please take a moment to chill out and compose a rational comparison of what is a "War Hawk" verses what is a Progressive or Moderate "Dove" (?) and show how various candidates, including SHRC, compare to your criteria.
To the alerter, please make a counter argument, don't needlessly alert.
Thank you very much for participating in our Jury system, and we hope you will be able to participate again in the future.

(2,388 posts)of the FCC's attempts to get this passed?
DianaForRussFeingold
(2,552 posts)From wiki.
"The FCC in 2007 voted to modestly relax its existing ban on newspaper/broadcast cross-ownership.[25] The FCC voted December 18, 2007 to eliminate some media ownership rules, including a statute that forbids a single company to own both a newspaper and a television or radio station in the same city. FCC Chairman Kevin Martin circulated the plan in October 2007"
"During mid-2014 and up to early 2015, the FCC, along with US Congress and the United States' Department of Justice, repeatedly voiced its opposition to a merger that was officially proposed by Comcast in January 2014 and would have led to a fusion of Time Warner and Comcast in order to form an enormously high-profile conglomerate with widespread influence across the US market. Comcast finally cancelled the merger proposition in May 2015."
