My Dad also loved her, had the opportunity to meet her and spend the day with her and became a life long supporter and fan! And he was a registered Republican, but she won him over...

I always knew who she was, since my Dad liked to talk about her, and I grew up in Northern New York. Apparently my Dad was among a group of city representatives who welcomed a group of important visitors, spent the day showing them around the city. My Dad was quite young and was assigned to accompany this tiny lady, initially wasn't sure what to make of her, and my Dad was a committed Republican. But she absolutely charmed him with her intelligence and her ideas. He always spoke of her with such affection and admiration.
