(7,362 posts)Most states have set up a three tier alcohol distribution system that specifically prohibits the manufacturers from telling the wholesalers or retailers what they can and can't do with the product. It would actually be illegal for Budweiser to have prevented it's beer from being sold in the towns along the border with the tribe.

(3,894 posts)Alcoholism is a personal disease, and as it would be unfair to take sugar out of everything and outlaw it's sale in states with high diabetes and obesity, this is equally unfair and foolish. That's half the argument with mmj, since some are just stoners, no one should have any. Stupid stupid stupid.
Alcohol programs and support are what's needed through the Tribe and other state and federal avenues, not prohibition, not even one square inch. Not even on the res, should it be illegal to buy and sell.

(111,417 posts)would be a great idea, if only to reduce the carnage on the roads leading to off reservation gin mills. Letting the tribes keep the profit from sales is also a great idea.
What they're doing now, prohibition, just isn't working at all.

(3,894 posts)exactly as you say, I was told. Too many Aggies getting killed heading east to the then nearest wet county to get loaded and then driving back.
