Shuster should write a book about FOX.

And MSNBC is now swinging away from "overly progressive"...

and it's show cancellations (Ed Show, Rev. Al Show, Chris Hayes, The Cycle) because they want to change their "image" of being left/liberal.

The "IMAGE" is all that Comcast is worried about???? With Jerk Joe and Mrs. Greenspan already on...it looks to get worse.

I think what happened to Shuster is that he appeared too far left and he had and argumentative nature with some guest on the right for management, or least that's what I thought? Is there proof that her team had him kicked off?

Cenk Uygur from the Young Turks. This is what Cenk had to say about why he decided to leave MSNBC after they refused to make him a permanent weekday host.

I wouldn't characterize Shuster as "far left." I think that he's one of the few journalists who didn't get brainwashed into using the view from on nowhere and playing to the establishment on air.

Shuster got into trouble during the '08 primaries because he was highly critical of Hillary's atrocious, Mark Penn-led campaign. He was suspended by MSNBC after criticizing the Chelsea Clinton's use as a surrogate, and his contract wasn't renewed when it expired.

I was just looking at David's demeanor after a very difficult spot in one of his interviews with a right-winger. He looked really stiff afterwards, and on edge for days. Thanks for sharing those videos because they answered other questions I had about that network.

What those videos do help me with is a question as to why they keep Joe Scarborough, he can do no wrong as far as management is concerned. They tried to fire Olbermann for one of the same things that they said nothing to Scarborough about, and he did exactly what Keith did (donation to a campaign).

'Morning Joe' is on air three hours per day, fifteen-hour per week, more than any other person on MSNBC. Joe rarely wears ties or socks for that matter but he's a Republic0n and I guess that's all that he needs to be (they even laughed at Joes shirt not being ironed on air). I guess that why Chuck Turd got his encouragement from Joe. So Chuck now has MTP and he'll be comfortable there for a long time, I guess.

From Wikipedia:

On February 7, 2008, while he was guest-hosting on Tucker, Shuster discussed Chelsea Clinton's campaigning for her mother Hillary Clinton, her efforts to influence superdelegates and her refusal to answer any questions by the media. When his guest, Bill Press, pointed out that Bush's daughters campaigned for their father, Shuster noted the different access rules in each case and responded, "There's just something a little bit unseemly to me that Chelsea's out there calling up celebrities, saying support my mom... doesn't it seem like Chelsea's sort of being pimped out in some weird sort of way?"

The Clinton campaign demanded an apology and stated that Clinton might not participate in any further primary debates on MSNBC.[8] Shuster was suspended for two weeks from all NBC News and MSNBC appearances for his comments.[9][10][11] Before the suspension, Shuster had engaged in a heated e-mail exchange with a Clinton staffer in which he defended his remarks.[12]

Seems unprofessional (unseemly) for a journalist to opine about pimping out a presidential candidate's daughter.

actually mean that they were turning their daughter out on the streets like Hillary supporters were insinuating back in '08.

Mark Halperin called the President a "dick," which is far more unprofessional than what Shuster said, and he's still all over the mainstream news media.

ETA don't even get me started about how the Clinton mafia got Randi Rhodes fired from Air America because she called Hillary a "fucking whore" during a stand up comedy routine at club in which she also referred to herself as a "fucking whore" in the same sentence.

He knows exactly how to get his meaning across. He chose his words purposefully. Either way, he should not be giving us the news. His bias is showing.

Halperin: 1. He is a dick. 2. He should not be on the air. 3. He is not a journalist, but a editorialist.

Rhodes: I have never heard of that before. Randi was a supporter of Clinton and spoke well of her on her radio show.

under license to mislead and out-right lie to us for their benefit and our detriment. I don't think it all has to do with the profit of the network itself, but the overall interests of the corporate conglomerate of which the network is only one of many companies.

They own the FCC and can do pretty much what they want to. Fox won an appeal from a case in Florida where they originally lost in the trial court for lying in a story. The appellate court said it was "OK" to lie because Fox was "Entertainment" and not news.

Younger generations cannot understand what it was like before when Walter Cronkite used to be at the helm of CBS. For many years Cronkite was polled as the "Most trusted man in America." A news anchor now could never win that award.

Another reason why we need Bernie! He wants to bust up these media oligarchies that are worse than anything the Soviet Union used to do in propagandizing the Soviet citizens. They use our airwaves to manipulate us into pro corporate positions against our own interests. The media is the best corporate/plutocrat tool in their arsenal.

a rightward turn. They think that they're being "balanced."

God forbid that anybody tells the truth about the state of the Republican party and the conservative movement in the US.

That's what I like about Trump though. He's ripping the scab off of the veneer of respectability that the corporate media has given to the Republican base.

Because she's not corporate she's not known by most Americans. The corporate media is one reason the country has gone so far to the right. When you have the media giving the impression that moderate/centrists like Obama and Clinton are 'liberals' it doesn't leave much room for any voices left of them to appear. People like Bernie Sanders, an FDR Democrat, have to call themselves Socialist in order to be heard. It's a scam really-the media tells us what conservative and liberal are thereby determining which candidates and policies are acceptable.
