Democratic presidential candidate Jim Webb has some harsh words for progressives: Stay out of the Democratic Party. But keep in mind that this message is coming from a candidate who only switched his party affiliation when it was politically expedient to win a Senate election. Webb does not speak for progressives, and his candidacy is already doomed.
Ring of Fires Mike Papantonio and Farron Cousins discuss this.

(1,309 posts)question- can anybody actually listen to Webb? I really cannot listen to him any longer than I can listen to Trump. Please let's not waste too much time talking about Webb or Trump. They are diversions by the rich in order to drain some energy from real candidates on the Democratic side.

(2,073 posts)On my report card for all the 5 Democratic candidates at that recent appearance in Iowa. Jim Webb sounded like he was a true progressive in his speech there - but I suppose that that event was not a place for him to show his true colors. It's interesting that my initial gut feeling about him when he got up to speak was so lackluster and uninspiring - I should have paid closer attention to my gut. Oh well - it's still fairly early on in the campaign, and I'm still in the learning and fact finding stage, it seems. I suppose that I gotta remember that not all that glitters is gold. So this is why I've heard words like "stealth" and "turncoat" used to describe him...
