1. Unless they remove all references and requirements of marriage in any laws/rules/etc

then this is unacceptable. I'm one of those people who thinks that only civil union (or whatever you want to call them) should be recognized and utilized by any government. I'm personally fine with calling it marriage, but that seems to cause problems. Make the marriage as a whole irrelevant to anything other than people personal religious beliefs, then I'd have no problems with this. Unfortunately, I don't foresee Oklahoma going that route. This is just a backdoor way to discriminate against same sex couples, and to some extent non-religious (like myself)

disclaimer: I have a very short attention span, so I only listened to like a minute of the video. That's pretty bad, considering it's only around 3 minutes long. So sorry if I missed the actual point of the video.

8. Oklahoma is saying the state should have no part in marriages

because marriage is ordained by God and not government. That is the reasoning of giving only ordained clergy the power to issue a marriage license. However, a couple can still be officially married by a judge or former judge of the state. Otherwise, they have to sign an affidavit for common law marriage. Which means, only eight other states will recognize the marriage if the couple take the common law approach.

This is nonsense and just another attempt to discriminate through law. Even though there are ways around it, two people pursuing marriage should not have to take those steps. Just another example if hypocrites trying to turn our nation into a theocracy.

OK, ARK, IND are all passing and sending to the right wing governor hypocrites desks for signature to discriminate against another human being,
I think it time to discriminate against lets say people, by asking for there ID cards nationwide.
If you live or come from the state with the above state ID you don't get served, you will be asked to leave--to bad if you didn't vote for these people-----sorry, but you are now in the same boat that is governing your state government, you have no equal protection under the CONSTITUTION

envious of the Taliban. They truly desire a theocracy in this country, despite all that's said about Sharia law. The Rich Republicans wouldn't have to worry about a theocracy, they can buy what ever kind of government favors they want, and live above the fray.

Christian who told me if I didn't convert to Christianity, his God would instruct him to kill all the heathens during the end times. He was quite serious. That gave me a chill down my spine, to think all it takes is for one person to think that it is the end times and go on a killing spree for his God. I am not familiar with Christianity, as I am Buddhist, but if people of a certain sect believe that its their duty to kill every non Christian, than we may have some huge problems in this country one day, that may be not too far, from the acts of ISIS.

and politicians seem to want to do little to improve the situation. Instead, many enable it to feel apparently proud of themselves, get votes, money or whatever, and I imagine some feel the same as the person you described. All of this religious stuff IMO is symptomatic of some very dangerous undercurrents building up in the US.

honestly think we might be heading into a second Civil war one day. When some people feel its their duty to stock up on ammo, and weapons, then they are going to use them some day, and with the religious fervor and Republicans trying to undo the fabric of our country... eventually it may come to a boiling point. That scares me.

in a supposedly civilized country. This then combined with the brainwashed end times crowd. I so often feel I'm in a country void of logic and intelligence. What seems to rule today is who can speak/promote the most outrageous rhetoric.

I've been amazed Obama has been able to hold it together, he is so strong and intelligent, we've been lucky. I guess we'll know more in 2016 where this country is headed. One nagging fear I do have is some individuals are so whacked out with the end times and all of that crap they well might create some horrific event so they can float to heaven. Some have some serious mental health issues IMO.

NHK's videos Begin Japanology, and I am just amazed how far our country is behind Japan in many things. From shipbuilding to making electronics. That used to be us, and now were heading down the same road that broke up the Soviet union, .. our country may become like that, with several states pulling out of the Union and wanting to become their own country. What a huge mess that would be.

US I doubt the US will be a top world leader in the 21st century. While the US wages war wherever it can, and gets in the middle of many conflicts, resources are strained to benefit the MIC profits. And, IMO, much of the US continues to descend into Idiocracy. And nonsense like the current religious stuff. Meanwhile, other countries are moving forward in technology. I too feel very uncomfortable about the future of the US, especially how many politicians are working to undermine and destroy the US.
