3. Every year I hope they just keep it year round instead of making us switch for 4 months

and I have no idea why we still bother with "standard" time, which is brutal in winter since so many people end up going to work in the dark and coming home in the dark and never seeing the sun and then people wonder why they're depressed.

Just keep it, already, and stop these stupid time changes every fall and early spring. Abandon "standard" time as a faulty standard, kind of like flat earth and phlogiston. It no longer has any use at all and if suburbanites want to whine about the kiddies having to stand at the bus stop in the dark, have the schools start an hour later. Teenagers would love that.

Ban the time changes. Ban that ridiculous 4 months of "standard" time that serves no one.

at 7:30 rather than 6:30 I'd rather just stick with one time year round any more.

7. Why not have DST in the Winter when we could use the extra daylight?

Another good idea is having an 8 day week so we can have 3 day weekends all year long.

9. Assuming people here have forgotten (I would assume some of them have not)

The date set in 2006 which extends it at both ends was set by the 2006 Repubilcans as an excuse for an "energy policy'. As with many things approved by those ass clowns - it has no real connection with the reality of energy use (which the data clearly says.)

I get mad at Republicans for many many stupider things but this earlier DST is yet another thing that their stupity is responsible for.

that puts Daylight Saving time in the dustbin of history, with a Constitutional Amendment that bans messing with the clocks forever.

I wonder if anyone at all knows any history. The reason for DST is simple: if you let it go, Standard Time results in morning daylight at about 3 a.m. Do you like that? I didn't think so. It's the opposite of what farmers want. Farmers love early morning daylight. That's great for them. But once factory workers and office workers and all other workers outnumbered farmers, their preference was finally implemented. DST means more daylight at the end of the day, when workers get off work. They want time after work to do stuff. So if anything, we should celebrate DST for what it gives us--more time after work to do the things we really can't do early--really early--in the morning.

Why doesn't it go all year? Because the benefits don't continue as the season progresses. It's simple.

Geez guys, have some critical sense. This is not hard.

Most I've talked to want to take your pick and Leave It Alone after that. There's reasons for having daylight hours after work--granted!--but the difficulty and most disliked aspect is the effing CHANGE.
