(8,267 posts)always, always, always--have I said always enough?!?-ALWAYS get their money!
These vile cretins decided to "tap" the "sub-prime" market, and you can rest assured they skirted the thin edge of their "social responsibility of properly assessing risk" when they made this decision. They tanked the global economy, and we're still experiencing the repercussions.
I agree with Mr. Wolff: we have to face the fact that "free market capitalism" isn't beneficial to the vast majority of humans on this planet. We MUST demand fundamental changes that benefit the seven billion of us living on this planet.

(6,002 posts)time espouses continuing along the same status quo (support for TPP) and offers no real solutions takes its citizens for fools.
Indeed, we are fools if we cheerlead for TPP, or any corporate candidates, if we accept & echo the manufactured talking points of centrism and right wing crap, to glorify candidates who are nothing more than cheap commodities, bought & paid for by big monied interests.

(8,267 posts)Confederacy of Dunces who've usurped our media, our politics AND our global economy is indeed foolish!
I wonder, though, how many of us will wake up and smell the hummus...

(20,453 posts)The system that managed to sustain itself (unfettered capitalism) over the past 30 years is now hitting American working class over the head with a vengeance.
Is it any wonder that the working class will return that lobby in kind?
Do you LIKE being worked to death, Mr. and Mrs. American work force?
I'm about 4 years before "retirement" (no, I won't be getting a pension, as the same system assured that I had no bargaining chip to ensure such an agreement).
I'm being squeezed to death to survive. Because I'm strong, I will survive. But, what about all those skilled workers who are paying off the loans to re-train them to survive a little longer? What's it gonna look like in another 10 or so years for them?
Anybody remember the lure of being able to afford what you can't by Master Charge?

(27,137 posts)How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror.
I know why you did it. I know you were afraid. Who wouldn't be? War, terror, disease. There were a myriad of problems which conspired to corrupt your reason and rob you of your common sense.
