I'm so happy to see that there are people in TX that actually believe in Democratic principles. I will very gladly support her bid for any higher office with my Connecticut money.

People like Davis, Bill Clinton, Obama all came from broken homes, single parent situations and met adversity and passed them by. Are there similar cases for the people in the GOP? Rubio claims to be, but isn't. Romney clearly doesn't even claim to be, although he made some off-handed remark that he could have said his family was from Mexico. Anyone?

Even others like Biden, Boxer, Granholm, Giffords, Carter, and so many more came from very modest upbringing. Who among the GOP were modestly brought up?

Certainly, the Democrats have scions like the Kennedys and the Gores and even Kerry, Pelosi and others. But I can't name a single (real) rags-to-riches from the GOP side.

He came from humble beginnings but it only made him meaner. Sometimes it works that way too.
Kennedy and Kerry were both from 1% families, but they both served in the military and in combat, which really put them in the trenches with average guys, all of them risking their lives.
But you're right, it seems most Democratic millionaires and politicians are self made.

I realize that's a pretty simplistic comment, but she seems genuine and true. I believe her when she speaks because I think what she says comes from the heart. There's no fluff, no pretense. Just Wendy.

I hope we see a lot more of this woman!

...are the best teachers. It is the fire in the crucible that burns away and releases all of life's impurities. Leaving the essence of your potential, once you've been tried and purified by its fire.

You're a good egg, Wendy Davis. Namaste.

What we need is a lot more representatives like her.

Didn't even know who she was a week ago. Now I love her.

we'd all like to see more of on the national scene. But down the road, say 5 or 6 years, she could really qualify for HIGH office - V.P., Supreme Court Justice. She's accumulating more bona fides, but already has the right philosophy and temperament.
