The Real ‘X-File’ Revealed: It Was LBJ’s Secret Dossier On Nixon

Over the years, conspiracy theorists have speculated about the existence — and possible contents — of an X-File, also referred to as an X-Envelope. The name even became attached to a popular TV franchise which spawned numerous spin-offs into other media over the years. There has always been a curiosity about what the X-envelope actually was.

It has been revealed, thanks to Robert Parry of Consortium News, that the file was actually President Johnson’s dossier on Richard Nixon’s dirty tricks and subterfuge operations during the 1968 campaign. Consolidated by former national security adviser Walt W. Rostow, it detailed Nixon’s sabotage of the Vietnamese peace talks in order to undermine the campaign of Hubert Humphrey, his Democratic opponent.

In October of 1968, Johnson had secured favorable standing from the North Vietnamese, but the South Vietnamese suddenly became unreasonable. The X-File reveals that the President of South Vietnam, Nguyễn Văn Thiệu, placed into power by a military coup in 1964, was in talks with Alexander Sachs. Sachs was a Lehman Brothers board member and very close to the Nixon campaign.

Per Parry:

These investment bankers were colluding over how to make money with their inside knowledge of Nixon’s scheme to extend the Vietnam War. Such an image of these “masters of the universe” sitting around a table plotting financial strategies while a half million American soldiers were sitting in a war zone was a picture that even the harshest critics of Wall Street might find hard to envision.
Yet, that tip – about Nixon’s Wall Street friends discussing his apparent tip on the likely course of the Vietnam War – was the first clear indication that Johnson’s White House had that the sudden resistance from South Vietnamese President Nguyễn Văn Thiệu to Paris peace talks may have involved a collaboration with Nixon, the Republican candidate for president who feared progress toward peace could cost him the election.

how would I feel if my child was killed or maimed; the second was Reagan and the hostages.

"Such an image of these “masters of the universe” sitting around a table plotting financial strategies while a half million American soldiers were sitting in a war zone was a picture that even the harshest critics of Wall Street might find hard to envision." This statement reminds me of the strategy session the Republicans had the night of the inauguration to plan how they would make sure Obama was a one-term president.

These people don't have the interests of our country or our people in mind...it is all power and money. We can never let them occupy the office again. They are our enemies...in more ways than one.

Eisenhower warned us in his parting talk, see "Why We Fight"
To gear up for WW2, the captains of industry were put in the driver's seat, and it worked wonders, but after 1946 they remained.
Now, they own media, PACs, thinktanks, and half of the US budget.

War Profiteering- It's not just for emergencies any more.

to bring on Armageddon and the second coming of Christ. Don't laugh. Not that Mitt necessarily knows that this is pushing him forward but he surly has these teabag bedfellows, and his religious background is deep into end time prediction . But Bush believed it. I remember reading about him talking to French president Sarkozy about the war between Gog and Magog.. which is a biblical term that refers to the war between good and evil capitulating in Armageddon. Sarkozy had no idea what he was talking about.

Don't underestimate sociopathic religious vision.

That we haven't had a legitimately elected Republican President since before I was born.

Every single one of them has come into the position via high treason.

No wonder we're not a legitimate power anymore...if if there even is such a thing.

Not since Eisenhower anyway... maybe.... I think Obama's election was a BIG surprise. If you recall the oath of office that Chief Justice Roberts misstated. Obama stopped and waited for him repeat it correctly... that could have started a constitutional crisis where the US Supreme court could have decided at some point to call the election null when they felt it in their interest. I don't think for a minute that Roberts was capable of misquoting the oath; he's not that sloppy or that stupid. I'll never forget that... I knew then that there was treason in the air.
