Allegations against Georgia prosecutors likely damaged case against Trump

Among friends and supporters of Fulton County District Attorney Fani T. Willis, a common argument has taken root in response to allegations that a romantic relationship between her and the lead prosecutor on the election-interference case against Donald Trump should disqualify them both.

Even if the accusations are true, these allies say, there is no Georgia law requiring either Willis or Nathan Wade to be bumped from the case. They consider the controversy a distraction fomented by one of Trump’s co-defendants with a long record as a GOP opposition researcher. The case is too important, they say. It must go on.
In some ways, however, the damage may already be done.

And Willis should hobble forward. There's no way she can count on Governor Kemp to find a fair replacement if there was pressure to resign. Hiring a guy for a high profile job for which he isn't preeminently qualified and then dating him and letting him pay for travel? She should have known she's under a microscope. Horrible unforced error IMO. I would guess that the election interference charges are too powerful for this to be swept under the rug. They already have guilty pleas. But could this affect a jury?

WTAF.

Did she keep exonerating evidence away from Trump's defense? Did she pay off judges and potential jurors?

Frankly, the allegation of Ms. Willis and Mr. Wade being romantically attached are coming from his soon-to-be ex-wife. So I would take anything with a huge grain of salt. Wade has probably been putting in a lot of long hours on the Trump case and his wife is probably jealous. Besides - women and men can have professional relationships without becoming romantically attached. Geeze.
