Iraq war will haunt west, says Briton who advised US military
A British woman who worked at the top of the US military during the most troubled periods of the Iraq war has said she fears the west has yet to see how some Muslims brought up in the last decade will seek revenge for the "war on terror".
Speaking for the first time about her experiences, Emma Sky also questioned why no officials on either side of the Atlantic have been held to account for the failures in planning before the invasion.
Sky, 44, was political adviser to America's most senior general in Iraq, and was part of the team that implemented the counterinsurgency strategy that helped to control the civil war that erupted in the country. The appointment of an English woman at the heart of the US military was a bold and unprecedented move, and it gave her unique access and insights into the conduct of one of the most controversial campaigns in modern history.
In all, the Oxford graduate spent more than four years in Iraq, including a spell as civilian governor of one of its most complex regions. She met Tony Blair and Barack Obama in Baghdad and earned the trust of senior Iraqi officials, as well as many of the country's leading politicians and community leaders, some of whom remain her friends.

tag.....the individual in this article appears to believe that post-sophistry will enlighten us as to the consequences our nations illegal war....as far as I'm concerned her participation at the time illustrates a moral weakness that should not be tolerated by a civilized culture....I believe the Doctor that was "suicided" in Britain attempted to reveal the propagandized BS package that was being to delivered to the world....the woman in question appears to me to have jumped on the bandwagon at that time.....sounds like she received a 'Badge" for her management skills at the time from the puppet govt in Iraq.....The Jersey girls/the Minnesota based FBI agent and I forget the other females name were named Time Magazines Women of the year for their dogged pursuit of the truth through the manufactored chaos post 9-11.....Its been a while and my memory is foggy as to the details however my contempt for that period of our history still burns bright....I hope this gives a more clear understanding....
.....her role as a PR person does not impress me possibly as much as others.....its too late to humanize(glorify) the young supposedly British "peaceniks" elevated advisory role.....is she tormented enough by the slaughter to consider suicide as many of our young countrymen(military) are doing at an accelerated pace....dime to a dollar my DU friend she will eventually have a book out......I grasp that she is a gifted individual with a bright future in a well connected circle....I still place Time Magazines 3 women of the year light years ahead of this young lady because they fought the good fight when it was Not popular to stand up for decency however I'm certain that their plight will be forever minimized.....thank you for your opinion and best wishes
