Trump slams Fed as Dow dives 1,500 points
Published: June 11, 2020 at 2:35 p.m. ET
By Robert Schroeder

President Donald Trump criticized the Federal Reserve over Twitter on Thursday, one day after Fed Chairman Jerome Powell offered a grim outlook on the economy, saying there was a “long road” ahead.

“I see the numbers also, and do MUCH better than they do,” Trump said of the Fed, without mentioning Powell by name. “We will have a very good Third Quarter, a great Fourth Quarter, and one of our best ever years in 2021,” the president said.

Trump’s tweet came as the Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, -6.50% fell more than 1,500 points after the Wednesday Fed statement and as cases of COVID-19 were resurging in some 20 states in the U.S.

Read ow plunges 1,500 points as U.S. coronavirus cases rise, amid Fed’s grim economic outlook.

It is like the little dictator voice in his head is commanding reality to sway to his edicts. Man is a fn nutjob.

"No I don't take any responsibility at all."

Sometimes (eeew) I wonder about anyone being married to that monster.

Marriage involves communication, give-and-take, and the ABILITY TO ADMIT ERROR. I'm surprised that he's only been married three times. Although, I think Melania was on her way out the door on November 1, 2016. She only stayed for a promise of future $$$. On November 4, 2020, she will walk.

Wake up Republicans, kick him to the curb before he takes US down with him in the flames of infamy, and destruction of our Republic for greed and ego.

I wondered who he was going to blame. I hadn’t thought of the Fed.

what in the world were they thinking?

They didn't need the Fed. Reserve, Jerome Powell, or anyone else to tell them that the CV wasn't just going to go away magically nor would businesses recover so rapidly.

People have their heads buried in the ground or just not thinking logically? They've seen how ineffective and inept the rump administration on all fronts. We're just on the forefront of this entire mess, and there's bound to be more shocks and quakes in come.

And of course trump knows all...well, if he did, the markets still collapsed anyways. Goes to show you just how many people in the 'know' are really paying attention to what this POS says anymore.

Or from trumps incompetence not stopping the virus. President Obama was successful with Ebola, while trumps already killed over a hundred thousand so far, and it's just beginning. The markets know what's coming . We see trump driving the debt sky high while trying to con us into believing it's doing good, sorry but I didn't buy it when W Bush lied and said , and sure don't now. Trump and Mitch are making it worse by stalling stimulus now to the people. You have to have enough people with spending money to stimulate the economy, but big corporations pocket it stimulating only one or a very people with it.

Trump told the truth 2021 is going to be a great year. Of course what is going to make it great is Trump no longer being in the White House instead he will hopefully be in the Big House.
