NBC may have killed Ronan Farrow's expos on Harvey Weinstein to protect Matt Lauer

Nicole Einbinder 3 hours ago

Harvey Weinstein tried to pressure NBC News into killing Ronan Farrow's investigation of his sexual misconduct by threatening to reveal similar behavior by former "Today" show host Matt Lauer, Farrow writes in his explosive new book.

Farrow ultimately published his Weinstein exposé with the New Yorker, shortly after The New York Times released a similar story, igniting a global reckoning that launched the #MeToo movement. Farrow outlines in his new book "Catch and Kill," a preview of which Variety obtained, how his former employee, NBC News, obstructed his efforts to report the story.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter about the release of his book, Farrow also highlights the role that Lauer may have played in hindering his investigation.

. . .

Farrow writes that Weinstein learned of Lauer's history of alleged sexual misconduct during a 2017 meeting with Dylan Howard, chief content officer of American Media Inc., which publishes the National Enquirer. Weinstein used his alliance with AMI to pressure NBC News executives into killing Farrow's story, in order to protect Lauer, according to Farrow.

Why doesn't Trump suffer the same fate as Lauer and Weinstein? Why isn't anybody calling for Trump's resignation for the same crimes?

I still believe if the pressure is put on Trump and the Repugs for this - and the pressure is kept on them - that the Repugs will have no recourse but to support his resignation. The Repugs can't talk their way out of Trump's sexual crimes. They would be backed into a corner. They might be able to talk their way out of telephone calls to the Ukraine - but Trump's sexual crimes is a whole other story.

What happened to the MeToo movement in relation to Trump?

What do Trump's Evangelical supporters think of his sexual crimes?

Come on now - Trump must be forced to resign for this as he's no better than Weinstein and Lauer.

...of the racist sexist pig as "moderator" of the "debate" has gone a long way to destroying the US constitution.

His dick meant more to him than his country.
