‘He tells me he didn’t know’: Trump defends Kim Jong Un over death of Otto Warmbier

HANOI — President Trump on Thursday defended North Korean leader Kim Jong Un over the death of American college student Otto Warmbier, whose family says he was “brutally tortured” while imprisoned in North Korea and died in 2017 after being flown back to United States in a coma.

The president condemned the “brutality of the North Korean regime” following Warmbier’s death at 22 years old, but he took a softer stance toward Kim at the conclusion of their second summit. ... “I don't believe he would have allowed that to happen,” Trump said. “It just wasn't to his advantage to allow that to happen.”

Trump said that he spoke to Kim about the death of Warmbier — whose family has called it a murder — and that Kim “feels badly about it.” He said the North Korea leader, who rules the country with an iron grip, knew about the case but learned about it only after the fact because, Trump suggested, “top leadership” might not have been involved. ... “He tells me he didn't know about it, and I take him at his word,” Trump said.

Trump’s defense of Kim mirrors his willingness to take the word of autocrats in other cases despite the findings of his own government or experts, particularly when confronting the leader is not what Trump sees as in his political interest.

It's a big story at Cincinnati.com, but I get annoyed trying to read Gannett newspapers.

Run ads with Trump saying he believes Putin and Kim and doubts US intel.
Run ads with the GOP sucking up to Trump and buying it all.
Run them on a constant loop.
Get spox in front of EVERY camera EVERY day and say the same damn thing - the GOP sold out the USA.

GOP sold out the USA, period.

It should be omnipresent to the point that it rattles the empty cavities on the top of the head of the Trumpeters and Magats.

The buck stops at Kim. It matters not what he knew or what he wanted to happen. It happened in HIS prison, in HIS country. It's HIS system of justice - that he oversees.

Trump doesn't get this, because he blames everyone else for his own failings.

To get away , again, with the killing of an American is the greatest crime of all for a president in this country to make. He did the same thing after the guy was murdered by the Prince, who jared met with yesterday. These people are criminals, not friends of this country and he's normalizing Americans being murder by these people now. This by itself should force him out of office in disgrace. trump has also ignored putin's murdering spree victims as well.

I don't want him to lead in our world.

Messy Thinking

Messy thinking results in messy speaking, which usually occurs when someone begins speaking before completing his or her thought process. As a consequence, listeners are taken on long, convoluted journeys filled with contradictions, extraneous information, and premature conclusions.

Messy thinking usually happens during periods of stress or high emotion. Remember Plato’s observation: Wise men speak because they have something to say, while fools speak because they have to say something. In other words, think about the intent of your message before speaking, and when speaking, choose language that is precise, clear, and easily understood.https://www.moneycrashers.com/causes-miscommunication-use-plain-language/
